According to Europol’s most recent EU Terrorism Situation & Trend Reports, there is still a serious threat of terrorism throughout the EU. The main concerns of Member States remain jihadist terrorism and the movement of foreign terrorists into and out of conflict areas. Recent coordinated attacks have demonstrated the desire and ability of Islamist radicals to instill widespread fear by causing large numbers of victims, especially in crowded urban locations.
