By strengthening institutional capacity and empowering youth, the UN-led project in Tajikistan seeks to prevent violent extremism (PVE) and promote social cohesion. Through community involvement, stakeholder coordination, and legislative reform, it aids in the execution of Tajikistan’s 2021–2025 PVE Strategy. Important initiatives include rehabilitation programs for extremist offenders, capacity building for law enforcement and civic society, and training for young people who are at risk. In ten high-risk districts, the program fosters resilience against radicalization by emphasizing human rights, gender equality, and inclusive government.
